Van der Voort is co-owner of Calodar and brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role. HIMA said her sector knowledge and international outlook position her to support the network's mission of sharing best practices, services and market intelligence among member associations and their companies.
Her appointment comes as HIMA marks its 25th anniversary in 2026. The network said it has spent the past quarter century promoting international cooperation, market insights and best-practice exchange across Europe's home improvement sector.
A central focus of van der Voort's presidency will be ensuring suppliers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, have strong representation within the industry. HIMA said SMEs remain a vital and innovative part of the sector, and strengthening their visibility and influence will remain a priority.
"I am honoured to take on the role of President at such a meaningful time for HIMA," said van der Voort. "HIMA has built an impressive legacy over the past 25 years."
She added that she looks forward to working with member organisations to strengthen international collaboration, support SMEs and contribute to continued growth and professionalism across the industry.
HIMA currently unites seven member organisations across Europe, including BHETA, AFEB, INOHA and MADE4DIY, alongside regional groups representing Benelux, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Together, the network represents more than 1,000 companies and covers 78% of the European market, according to HIMA.
The organisation also confirmed the re-election of Vice Presidents Stéphane Dalimier and César Navarro, as well as Treasurer Dirk Baum, providing continuity as the network enters its next phase.
