Nick Kelsall and Wilf Walsh will both join the board on 20 May 2026, taking positions across the Audit, Nominations and Remuneration Committees. Kelsall will also assume the role of Chair of the Audit Committee following his appointment.
Kelsall brings extensive financial and executive experience, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Norcros plc, as well as holding the position of Chief Financial Officer at the company for more than 14 years.
Walsh contributes sector-specific expertise, with a background that includes leadership roles at Carpetright, where he served as CEO from 2014 to 2021, and subsequent experience as Chair of its parent company. He also holds a number of non-executive and advisory positions across sports and industry organisations.
The appointments coincide with the planned departure of existing Non-Executive Director Robin Williams, who will step down from the board at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting and will not seek re-election.
According to Interim Executive Chair Stephen Bird, the additions are intended to strengthen the breadth of experience within the board, combining financial leadership with industry knowledge relevant to Headlam's core market.
Headlam operates as the UK's largest distributor of floor coverings, supplying a wide range of products through an extensive network across the UK and continental Europe. The company works with global suppliers and serves a broad trade customer base, supported by logistics, marketing and digital capabilities.
The board changes are positioned as part of the company's broader efforts to support governance, operational oversight and strategic development.
