COR Sitzmöbel is using Milan Design Week 2026 to reinforce its reputation for long-life premium seating, transforming a temporary showroom in Milan's Brera district into what it describes as a design culture hotspot.

Located at Via Solferino 11, the so-called COR Apartment presents a domestic-style installation focused on calm neutral tones, tactile materials and contemporary living spaces. The German brand says the concept is intended to highlight furniture designed to remain relevant for decades rather than follow short-term trends.
New launches led by Kagu armchair
The headline product introduction is the Kagu armchair by Jehs+Laub.
Kagu combines a sculptural timber frame in ash or oak with an upholstered sprung seat. Visible wooden detailing, tapered legs and a central cross support give the chair a crafted architectural identity. COR positions it for living rooms, reading corners and premium hospitality-style interiors.
The Kagu family is completed by a matching side table offered in three sizes, with either stone or lacquered tops.
Cordia updated for 2026
COR is also unveiling Cordia26, a redesigned version of the original Cordia armchair first introduced in 2012.
The refreshed model retains swivel and optional tilt functions, while adopting slimmer armrests, a more streamlined profile and ergonomically developed seat and back cushions. The company says the update aims to balance upright support with lounge comfort, allowing the chair to work in both residential and contract settings.
Wider collection refresh
Alongside the two headline pieces, visitors can also view revised editions of the Siwa sofa and Mell bench, signalling a broader strategy of evolving established models rather than replacing them.
That approach reflects COR's long-standing positioning in the premium market, where product longevity, modular updates and sustained relevance increasingly appeal to consumers seeking value beyond trend cycles.
German manufacturing and sustainability message
Founded in 1954 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, COR Sitzmöbel manufactures in Germany and continues to emphasise craftsmanship, material quality and environmental credentials.
The company says all residential upholstered products carry the Blue Angel eco-label and Greenguard Gold certification, while operations have been carbon neutral through offsetting since 2020.
Industry significance
At a time when many furniture brands are focusing on novelty and spectacle during Milan Design Week, COR's presentation leans into permanence, engineering and understated luxury. That message aligns with a broader premium interiors shift toward investment furniture, repairability and timeless forms rather than fast-cycle consumption.
