Following the commercial success of the Merano collection, which has sold more than half a million pieces worldwide, Czech furniture brand Ton has introduced All'essenza, a new chair designed by Alexander Gufler. First unveiled at this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan, the model draws on the defining qualities of Ton's established designs while addressing the evolving needs of contemporary interiors.

All'essenza combines a refined visual language with practical functionality suited to hospitality, workplace, and public settings. Its light construction, clean silhouette, and gently shaped seat and backrest contribute to a design that integrates easily into a wide range of interior concepts. The name itself reflects a focus on reduction and clarity, emphasising only essential elements.
The chair builds on Gufler's previous work for Ton. It adopts the visual lightness and ergonomic assurance associated with Merano, alongside the restrained detailing and composure seen in the La Zitta collection. The result is a versatile seating solution intended for long-term use across varied environments.
'When form reaches the right proportions and design is reduced to its essence, only the essence remains. All'essenza seeks balance between simplicity, comfort, and timeless elegance,' says Alexander Gufler, who has worked with Ton for many years.
Beyond aesthetics, the design responds to practical demands. The chair is lightweight and stackable, and incorporates a discreet linking mechanism that allows for row arrangements. These features make it particularly suited to dynamic spaces such as conference venues, restaurants, hotels, and flexible work environments where layouts frequently shift.

'All'essenza perfectly captures the direction Ton has been following for years. We create products that respect our craft tradition while responding to current market demands. This new model combines lightness of expression, high functionality, and the versatility expected today by architects and proprietors,' says Milan Dostalík, CEO of Ton.
The collection will be available in beech, oak, and American walnut, offered in a broad spectrum of stains and colours, alongside fully upholstered variants. This flexibility enables the chair to adapt to both natural interior schemes and more tailored hospitality applications.
The Milan launch was accompanied by a distinctive exhibition stand, featuring yellow rods referencing bentwood technology and the brand's manufacturing heritage. Designed by Vrtiška & Žák studio, the installation presented a contemporary interpretation of Ton's longstanding craft tradition, reinforcing the narrative behind the new collection.
