New UK online search data for the sofa retail sector shows DFS leading overall brand awareness in 2026, while Furniture Village ranked highest for organic traffic.
According to the latest annual report from Salience Search Marketing, Furniture Village recorded the strongest organic traffic score at 762,196, despite a relative decline against the wider market. Oak Furnitureland posted the largest gain, rising 69% to 718,520 and taking second place overall.

Completing the top five for traffic were DFS, up 15% to 434,956, ScS, down 1% to 254,225, and Sofology, down 35% to 230,742.
Other notable movers included Sofa Club, Loaf, Barker & Stonehouse, Swoon and Furniture And Choice.
The report also highlighted shifting consumer demand, with "l shaped sofa" the most searched term, followed by "sofa side table" and "2 seater small couch". Searches for "second hand sofas near me" doubled year-on-year.
For customer reviews, DFS ranked highest with more than 617,000 reviews and an average score of 4.9. Sofology placed second, while ScS ranked third.
In combined brand searches and social metrics, DFS led the market ahead of Oak Furnitureland, Furniture Village, Sofology and Loaf.
The findings underline the growing importance of search visibility, reviews and digital brand presence in an increasingly competitive upholstery market.
