A passion for wood has guided Taranko from its earliest days, evolving from a personal fascination into a professional design and manufacturing approach.
Barbara Taranko, Sales Manager at Taranko, reflects on the brand's continuity: 'The essence has remained unchanged, a consistent focus on detail, respect for material, and a design approach that values longevity over passing trends. Even as our portfolio has grown, we have always tried to keep the core of what makes our furniture feel genuine, careful proportions, attention to every detail, and finishes that will still look good years from now. It's not about following what's fashionable at the moment, it's about creating pieces that have a sense of permanence and that people can live with comfortably.'

She adds: 'Whether we're working on classic lines or more contemporary designs, the goal is always the same, furniture that brings warmth and a feeling of lived-in quality to a space. That approach guides everything we do, from the selection of wood to the way pieces are constructed.'
Design beyond trends
'Rather than following the market, the brand consistently builds its own visual language, rooted in craftsmanship and attention to detail,' Barbara explains. 'With over 30 collections, each line explores a different aesthetic, but the principles remain constant, clarity of form, proportion, and careful detailing. Every element is considered, from the curve of a chair leg to the thickness of a table top, so the overall design communicates a sense of balance and intention.'
She continues: 'Materials are central to this approach. Carefully sourced veneers from various parts of the world are combined with components from suppliers we trust. We put a lot of thought into finishes and colour tones, not just to reflect contemporary trends, but to ensure the piece maintains its character over time. Furniture should not only function well but also feel familiar and welcoming, adding depth to the interiors it occupies.'

Adapting across markets
'Our international approach is flexible by necessity,' Barbara notes. 'We don't focus on a single market. Instead, we observe and learn from different regions, paying attention to how tastes vary across cultures and age groups. That allows us to adapt our collections while maintaining the essence of Taranko. It's about being responsive without losing the identity that defines us.'
She emphasises the role of domestic showrooms: 'Poland remains a very important market. Our partner showrooms allow people to experience the furniture directly, see the materials, and understand the quality. That personal connection is crucial for building trust and for customers to appreciate what goes into each piece.'
Modularity and future direction
Looking ahead, flexibility is a growing priority. 'Our upcoming collections put a lot of focus on modularity and adaptability,' Barbara explains. 'We want users to be able to shape their interiors according to their needs, whether that's rearranging a living space or combining elements to suit a changing lifestyle. This reflects a wider shift in how people use their homes and want their furniture to respond.'
She adds: 'Alongside this, we continue refining our materials, finishes, and construction. It's not about reinventing what we do, but about making each piece more durable, comfortable, and practical. The direction is clear, thoughtful growth, greater flexibility, and furniture that not only fits into interiors, but actively defines their character.'
