Garden furniture searches remain strong for third straight month

UK furniture-related online searches during March 2026 showed continued demand for outdoor living, with garden furniture performing strongly for a third consecutive month, according to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group.

Overall searches for "furniture" peaked on 22 March, reaching Google's maximum indexed score of 100, with six days during the month scoring above 80. Google Trends indexes search interest to 100 as the highest relative level of demand.

Among the strongest related searches were Oak Furnitureland, up 1,700%, alongside "garden furniture", Furniture Village, "bedroom furniture", IKEA furniture, "rattan furniture" and "oak furniture".

Outdoor-focused terms also appeared across multiple categories. Sofa searches included "outdoor corner sofa", "garden corner sofa set", "rattan corner sofa" and "garden sofa", highlighting growing crossover between indoor and exterior furnishing demand.

Mattress searches peaked on 8 March, likely supported by National Bed Month promotions. Popular related terms included "king size", "best mattress", "Emma mattress promo code" and "bed sizes UK".

Bedroom furniture searches also reached their highest level on 8 March, with strong growth for terms linked to Oak Furnitureland, Starplan and fully assembled furniture.

Flooring remained one of the most active categories, recording 23 days above index 90, while carpets logged 13 days above that level, suggesting sustained interest in wider home improvement projects.

The March data indicates consumers are preparing homes and gardens for spring, while still seeking value, seasonal deals and practical upgrades across core furniture categories.
