The business, Indoor Group Oy, operated a network of physical stores alongside an e-commerce platform and related brand activities. Following the court decision, the company has been placed under the control of a bankruptcy estate, which is now reviewing assets, systems and ongoing operations.

The collapse creates uncertainty for customers awaiting furniture deliveries, with undelivered orders expected to form a significant part of the administration process. The bankruptcy estate is understood to be assessing how outstanding commitments will be handled while it evaluates the company's remaining assets.

Indoor Group has been a notable player in the Nordic furniture market through its Asko and Sotka chains, serving consumers across Finland with a broad home furnishings offer spanning living room, bedroom and dining categories.

The insolvency adds to growing pressure across the European furniture sector, where retailers and manufacturers continue to face weaker consumer demand, elevated operating costs and increased competition from digital channels and international low-cost operators.

For the wider market, the case underlines the continued challenges facing multi-channel furniture retailers attempting to balance store networks, online investment and changing purchasing behaviour.

Further updates on customer claims, store operations and the future of the Asko and Sotka brands are expected as administrators continue their review.
