Cassina focuses on consolidation as global sales rise

Cassina is targeting stability in 2026 after increasing turnover by 50% over the past five years, despite continued geopolitical tensions and softer demand across premium consumer sectors.

According to chief executive Luca Fuso, longer and more carefully planned purchasing cycles are influencing the design market, mirroring trends already seen in fashion and luxury. In response, Cassina is maintaining its long-term strategy rather than pursuing short-term repositioning.

Central to this approach is "The Cassina Perspective", which combines historic modernist icons with contemporary collections to create complete interior environments rather than focusing on individual products. Recent expansion into integrated wardrobe solutions reflects the brand's intention to serve a wider range of domestic spaces.

International growth continues to be driven by export markets, which now represent around 85% of turnover. Asia and Latin America remain key regions, while trading conditions in the Middle East have been affected by regional conflict. In 2025, Cassina opened stores in Mexico City and São Paulo, with further openings planned in Taipei and Dalian, China.

The company has also diversified into outdoor furniture, lighting, accessories and contract projects, particularly in hospitality, helping to broaden revenue streams.

Sustainability remains a strategic priority, with products increasingly designed for disassembly and recycling at end of life. Cassina is also investing in alternative materials, including recycled fibre fillings intended to replace down.

Following celebrations marking 60 years of its Le Corbusier collection in 2025, the brand is also exploring cross-sector collaborations in 2026, including a partnership with Persol.

In the current market climate, Cassina's focus for the year ahead is on consolidating recent gains rather than accelerating expansion.
