Bensons for Beds is expanding in Belfast with a second store opening in Newtownabbey (UK), signalling continued confidence in regional demand for sleep products.
The new branch at Longwood Retail Park opens on 24 April and will showcase 63 beds alongside mattresses, bedsteads and accessories. Brands on display include Tempur, Simba, Sealy and Hypnos.

The retailer is also rolling out its Sleep Pro 2.0 technology, an in-store diagnostic system that measures pressure points and selected biometric indicators to recommend mattress firmness tailored to each shopper.
The expansion follows a strong performance at Bensons' existing Belfast location, which reportedly achieved a 20% sales uplift in 2025 after a refit.
Louise Lowry said the new opening would bring the company's sleep expertise to more customers across Belfast and the wider region.
The move reflects a broader retail trend in bedding, where consumers remain willing to spend on health and comfort categories even as wider discretionary home spending stays uneven. It also suggests Northern Ireland continues to offer growth opportunities for national furniture and sleep specialists seeking regional expansion.
For the UK beds market, physical stores remain strategically important as shoppers often prefer to test mattresses in person before purchase, especially when paired with data-led consultation tools.
