Costco recalls bed frames after collapse incidents reported

Costco has issued a product recall affecting bed frames sold through its online platform, following reports of structural failures that resulted in injuries.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, approximately 5,600 units of Universal Broadmoore canopy bed frames are being recalled due to a risk of the upper beams collapsing when the bed is moved. The affected products were sold between October 2024 and February 2026, with retail prices ranging from $900 to $1,000.

The recall follows five reported injury cases linked to the defect. The products were manufactured by Samson International and sold exclusively through Costco.

The affected models include Bellevue and Oaklynn bed frames in both queen and king sizes, identified by model numbers M24109230, M24109240, M24107230 and M24107240.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are advised not to move the bed frames until repairs have been completed. Samson International is offering a free repair kit, including metal brackets and mounting hardware, alongside installation support.

Customers are encouraged to contact the manufacturer directly to arrange the repair process.

The recall highlights ongoing safety considerations within the furniture sector, particularly regarding structural integrity and product durability, as retailers and manufacturers face increasing scrutiny over product standards and consumer protection.
