German mattress manufacturer Paar GmbH has acquired the trademark rights to the established Malie brand, marking a strategic expansion of its presence within the specialist bedding sector. The move sees Managing Director Christian Paar incorporate a label with strong brand recognition and an established retail history into the company's growing portfolio.
Although Malie Mecklenburgisches Matratzenwerk GmbH has recently undergone insolvency proceedings and subsequent liquidation, the brand itself retains significant market awareness and legacy value within the sleep systems sector. Paar views the acquisition as an opportunity to build on this foundation and unlock further growth in a consolidating market environment, where established names continue to hold commercial potential.

As part of the brand's redevelopment, Paar GmbH is working alongside former Malie managing director and shareholder Bernd Kessler, who brings extensive industry experience in the development and positioning of premium sleep products. His involvement is expected to support the refinement of Malie's product direction and market positioning.
Going forward, Paar GmbH plans to gradually reposition the Malie brand across furniture and bedding retail channels as well as complementary distribution networks. The strategy will focus on a streamlined product range, consistent quality standards, and closer collaboration with retail partners, as the company seeks to reinforce and expand Malie's presence in the market.
