Authorities said the automatic fire alarm of the factory, Kronospan Novopan Træindustri, was triggered at 6:19 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found flames affecting conveyor belts within the facility. Multiple emergency units, two incident commanders and a drone were deployed to ensure the blaze had not spread further.

Police reported that no intervention was required and no wider public safety threat was identified.

Kronospan Novopan Træindustri is part of Kronospan and manufactures wood-based boards, primarily chipboard, for the construction, furniture and interiors sectors. The Pindstrup site is one of the larger industrial employers in the region, with around 200 employees.

The incident follows an earlier major fire at the same location in 2021, when a large waste wood pile burned for several days.

While the immediate operational impact has not been disclosed, the event highlights ongoing fire-risk management challenges in wood processing environments, where combustible materials, dust systems and conveyor operations require constant monitoring.
