Cushions recalled over fire safety concerns

Carte Blanche Greets Ltd has issued a product recall for a range of Me to You decorative scatter cushions due to a serious fire risk. The recall, announced by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, affects 13 cushion designs manufactured in China.

These cushions were sold across multiple UK retailers, including Amazon, Card Factory, Clintons, Tesco, Grattans, and WH Smith. The products have been found to fail the safety requirements set out in the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

'Affected products have been identified as presenting a risk of fire, as they do not meet the required fire safety standards,' the notice confirmed. The company has begun recalling the items from end users.

Carte Blanche Greets Ltd has advised customers to 'stop using affected products immediately' and return them to the original retailer for a full refund. Consumers are urged to check their cushions against the list of recalled designs and take appropriate action.

This recall highlights ongoing concerns about imported soft furnishings and the need for strict compliance with UK fire safety standards.
