The new location, which had a soft launch earlier this month, celebrated its formal opening with an event attended by VIP guests, suppliers and local businesses. The store was officially opened by Sir Andy Street and Sir Andrew Mitchell.
The launch follows the retailer's flagship opening at Merry Hill Shopping Centre in 2024. With more than 300 stores globally, Harvey Norman's UK estate now comprises four locations, including two in Belfast, with additional openings planned.
The Sutton Coldfield site will also serve as the company's UK headquarters, acting as a central hub for expanding domestic operations. Harvey Norman said the move reflects a regional hub strategy anchored in the West Midlands.
Lachlan Roach said the region offers a strong economy, a substantial catchment area and a strategic base for national growth.
Harvey Norman positions its stores as large-format destination retail spaces, bringing together furniture, appliances and technology under one roof, supported by in-store expertise.
The latest opening adds to a wider trend of international retail groups selectively investing in UK physical stores, particularly in mixed-use regional centres where catchment strength, accessibility and available space support experiential multi-category formats.
