De Grande auctions 387 furniture and sculptures

Renowned Bruges antiques dealer Paul De Grande will sell no fewer than 387 pieces from his warehouses at an auction in Zedelgem on 1 March. The organisation is in the hands of Rob Michiels of Coronari Auctions, who previously sold the contents of De Grande's castle in Snellegem. The viewing days will take place from 22 to 25 February in his shed on Remi Claeysstraat.

De Grande wants to use this auction not only to make space in his warehouses, but also to enthuse young people about antiques. 'For 500 euros you can already buy a 17th-century cabinet,' he tells KW. According to the antique dealer, this is a unique opportunity for individuals to snap up affordable historical furniture.

A lack of space in his gallery on Sint-Jorisstraat in Bruges has forced De Grande to make choices. Still, he stresses his love for antiques and hopes this auction will introduce a wider audience to his collection. The auction offers both seasoned collectors and new enthusiasts the chance to purchase special pieces.
