Feria Hábitat València strengthens design leadership through National Awards partnership

Feria Hábitat València 2026 is strengthening its position as Spain's leading platform for design and the habitat industry through a new collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. The initiative will integrate the prestigious National Innovation and Design Awards into the fair's 2026 edition, reinforcing the connection between institutional recognition, industry and international visibility.

Taking place from 28 September to 1 October at Feria Valencia, the event will introduce a dedicated exhibition space showcasing award-winning companies, designers and projects. Conceived as an open and educational environment, the space will combine product displays, audiovisual content and exhibition installations aimed at demonstrating how design contributes to economic growth, innovation and social development.

The partnership reflects a long-standing relationship between the fair and many of Spain's most recognised design companies. Over the years, more than 30 National Design and Innovation Award winners have participated in Feria Hábitat València, including Andreu World, Kettal, Roca, Viccarbe, Cosentino and Porcelanosa. The fair has also welcomed internationally recognised designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Jaime Hayon and Javier Mariscal, alongside notable figures including Miguel Milá and Marisa Gallén.

Alongside the exhibition, Feria Hábitat València will organise a professional programme of conferences, presentations and round tables designed to encourage dialogue between award-winning brands, emerging talent, institutions and international specifiers. The initiative will work in synergy with NUDE, Spain's leading platform for emerging designers.

The collaboration also reinforces the growing role of design within Spain's industrial strategy. Organisers emphasised that design should no longer be viewed solely as an aesthetic discipline, but as a strategic tool capable of improving competitiveness, driving innovation and shaping new production models.

With strong international attendance from buyers, media and industry professionals expected once again, the initiative aims to increase the global visibility of Spanish design while further positioning Feria Hábitat València as a key meeting point for the international interiors and furniture sector.
