Möbelix reopens first-ever store after €2m refurbishment

Austrian furniture retailer Möbelix has reopened its branch in Asten/St. Florian, Upper Austria, following a four-month renovation programme.

The location holds historic significance for the company as it was the first store opened by Möbelix when the business launched in 1989.

The refurbished site now features a 4,500sqm barrier-free sales area, with expanded space dedicated to kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. The store has also been modernised with electronic displays throughout. Customers can now plan fitted kitchens and kitchen units using 3D computer animation during in-store consultations. The assortment also includes curtains, sun protection, DIY products, lighting, tableware, carpets, décor and home textiles.

The company invested €2m in the refurbishment and said the reopening has created ten additional jobs. The branch now employs more than 20 people, including six apprentices.

Christoph Geiselmayr, managing director of Möbelix, said Upper Austria's central region, with around half a million inhabitants, is one of the country's strongest economic areas and remains strategically important to the retailer.

Headquartered in Wels, Möbelix now operates 100 stores and ranks among the three largest furniture retailers in Austria. The reopening underlines the company's continued investment in physical retail, store modernisation and customer-focused technology.
