Prostoria has revealed the pavilion for Revisiting Richter, a new collection debuting at Salone del Mobile 2026 that brings to production previously unrealised furniture designs by Croatian modernist Vjenceslav Richter.

Presented in Pavilion 24, Stand C25, the project introduces five collections comprising 20 pieces developed from Richter's archival concepts. The launch marks the first time many of the late architect's furniture ideas have been translated into contemporary production.
Modernist legacy revisited
Best known for shaping Zagreb's architectural identity and for pavilion designs shown at events such as Expo 58 in Brussels and the Milan Triennale, Richter remains relatively under-recognised outside specialist design circles.
Prostoria describes the initiative as a long-term cultural project, acting as both custodian and interpreter of his archive. Rather than reproducing historic pieces exactly, the company has adapted them for modern use through revised proportions, improved ergonomics and updated construction techniques.
One featured example is the VR61 chair, originally conceived for the Italia 1961 exhibition in Turin. The reworked version retains its sculptural symmetry while improving structural performance and comfort.
Pavilion by Numen/For Use
The exhibition architecture has been created by Numen/For Use. Built around a strict grid system, the pavilion uses modular repetition and composite columns to organise movement and display.
According to the brand, the structure reflects Richter's belief that architecture, art and industrial design should function as one continuous system. Furniture pieces are integrated directly into the pavilion, blurring the boundary between object and environment.
Illuminated displays serve both as exhibition devices and the primary light source, reinforcing the immersive, systems-led concept.
Regional design confidence
The launch also signals growing confidence from South-East European brands on the international stage. By pairing manufacturing capability with design research, Prostoria continues to position itself as one of the region's strongest contemporary furniture names.
At Salone del Mobile 2026, Revisiting Richter offers more than a product launch—it reframes an overlooked modernist voice for today's market.
