Loaf has confirmed the launch of a new 5,500sq ft showroom in Chelmsford, with the site set to open on 30 April 2026.
Known as a "Shack", the new location will become the brand's 12th UK store, marking another step in Loaf's bricks-and-mortar expansion strategy. Situated on Springfield Road near Chelmsford rail station, the opening targets one of the UK's fastest-growing commuter cities, supported by residential development and proximity to London.

The company said the new Shack reflects a broader retail shift away from transactional showrooms toward more experience-led destinations where customers spend longer engaging with products.
Designed by Loaf's in-house team alongside Studio Jill, the space will showcase the full furniture collection, including sofas, beds, rugs, tables and lighting. It will also feature immersive zones including the company's third Movie Lounge, screening family-friendly British films with complimentary popcorn.
Additional lifestyle-focused spaces such as a Reading Nook and Pantry have also been introduced, reinforcing Loaf's strategy of creating stores that feel more like lived-in homes than conventional retail floors.
Chief executive Sam Perkins said the Chelmsford opening represents the brand's ambition to redefine the furniture shopping experience through relaxed, family-friendly environments.
The launch highlights continued investment in physical retail by furniture brands seeking to differentiate through customer experience despite wider market pressures.
