BD Barcelona presents Rasters installation during Milan Design Week

BD Barcelona will present RASTERS, a modular furniture system developed in collaboration with OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen and Muller Van Severen, during Milan Design Week 2026.

The installation will be staged at zaza', Via Privata Leopoldo Gasparotto 4, Milan, with a press preview scheduled for 20 April. Originally conceived for the Milan headquarters of Bottega Veneta, the project has been further developed into a flexible system comprising cabinets and paravents.

At the core of the concept is the use of a grid structure as an architectural device. The system employs a perforated wooden lattice designed to organise and divide space while maintaining visual continuity. This approach allows light to pass through the structure, creating semi-transparent boundaries that define areas without fully enclosing them.

The modular nature of RASTERS enables multiple configurations, supporting both functional storage and spatial articulation. By balancing openness with structure, the installation explores the relationship between furniture and architecture, positioning the system as both a practical solution and a spatial framework.

Presented within an exhibition setting, the project reflects an ongoing interest in adaptable design systems that respond to contemporary interior needs, where flexibility and spatial fluidity are increasingly prioritised.
