As you approach the De Vaandel industrial estate, Richmond Interiors' new experience centre is impossible to miss. Before you even have a chance to park for the grand opening celebration, it's clear that the event is buzzing with excitement. "It's starting to get a little crowded," says a man directing traffic, a hint of amusement in his voice. The car park is full, and cars are lined up along the street. Stepping inside, over 300 guests fill the space—friends, family, colleagues, agents, clients, suppliers, and other partners—all gathered to celebrate this milestone.

20,000 m² and 200 shipping containers
"Last March, the first pole was put into the ground and now, 1.5 years later, we can proudly show off our new home," begins co-director Lex Tiggeler, after welcoming everyone to the new experience centre. Next to him is his sister Anne-Roos Tiggeler. They are joined by 'the girls', the younger generation who cut the ribbon after the speech. "The construction of the 20,000 m² building, where we have everything under one roof, has been very pleasant for us. What the Van Stralen brothers Bart, Paul and Jan have built is incredible."
Lex Jr. then took a moment to shine the spotlight on the team, while the Tiggeler family, including father and former owner Lex Sr., looked on with pride. "I couldn't have envisioned a smoother transition," he said. "We moved over 200 sea containers without missing a beat, and we didn't lose a single week in the process. The entire team worked tirelessly, and we couldn't be prouder. We want to say thank you again."

Escape the ordinary
Before everyone is invited to take a look around the 20 different style rooms, with some 1,000 new items, sales manager Rick Nijenhuis steps forward. "Despite 'escape the ordinary' being the slogan within Richmond Interiors, the company has remained an oh-so-ordinary family business," he says. He congratulates the family and hands over a symbolic gift: a watering can. Why? To water the seven olive trees the Richmond team bought. "Seven colours of the rainbow, seven continents, seven wise men and... seven olive trees. Among other things, the gift represents positivity and confidence in the company."
Lex grabs the microphone again: "Enough talk. Let yourself be pampered by Don Catering and enjoy the performers. Have a great evening!" This marks the official opening of the new premises.
Starting this week, the new experience centre will be open to all. Dealers, interior stylists and their customers are welcome to come and take a look. No time to visit, but curious about the new collection? Then request the new catalogue via this link.
