'Each piece reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of design'

Recently, InteriorDaily had the opportunity to delve into the world of the Portuguese brand Karpa through an insightful interview with Sales Director Ricardo Pereira, shedding light on its artistic techniques, projects, and aspirations for the future.

Karpa's journey began in 2009, as a vision materialised by artist Albino Miranda. 'The idea was to create a brand that represented the company in the international market. Using an innovative and new material, resin reinforced with fibreglass, combined with the unique artistic techniques of Albino Miranda, KARPA was born,' Ricardo explains.

Renowned for his mastery in crafting unique shapes, textures, and finishes using resin and fiberglass, Miranda's meticulous handiwork imbues each piece with a distinct identity. His ability to transmit his artistic vision to his team ensures that every artwork retains a signature aesthetic, contributing to Karpa's unmistakable allure.

Projects
Karpa focuses on interior and exterior environments, taking the organic shapes, textures and colours of nature has its main inspirations. The company is active in several markets, with the most engagements in Germany, the United States, The Netherlands, France, and the Middle East. Each market presents unique opportunities for growth and collaboration. The brand's portfolio boasts remarkable projects, particularly in the luxury hotel sector. 'Savoy Palace is a 5-star hotel located in Funchal, Madeira, with 352 rooms including 14 pool suites and two presidential suites with a pool. It will also have a 3100m2 spa, six swimming pools, eight bars and restaurants and several conference rooms. The entire interior design project was developed by Nini Andrade Silva in partnership with RH + Arquitectos, and features several Karpa pieces, as well as some bolder sculptures by Albino Miranda.'

'The Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is located in Portugal and stands out for being one of the 19th century palaces that has been renovated and adapted to the modern luxury of Porto. The property is the work of Madeiran designer Nini Andrade Silva and the architecture firm Miguel Cardoso Arquitecto, who restored a 19th-century manor and its historical architectural features and created an extension. In the restaurant area, in addition to the unique counters and suspension lamps created by Albino Miranda you can also find the Sigma dining table from Karpa.'
