The 64th edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 attracted more than 316,000 visitors from 167 countries, with organisers reporting a 4.5% increase in attendance compared to the previous year. Alongside the return of EuroCucina and the International Bathroom Exhibition, this year's edition also introduced Salone Raritas, dedicated to collectible design, and unveiled the Salone Contract 2027 masterplan by Rem Koolhaas and OMA.

Against the backdrop of increasingly crowded exhibition halls, several brands stood out through immersive booth concepts that created quieter, more intimate environments within the fair itself. Rather than presenting products as isolated objects, exhibitors focused on contextual installations that reflected hospitality, domesticity and sustainability.

Audo Copenhagen collaborated with Norm Architects and art director Christian Møller Andersen on a stand inspired by Italian colonnades and 1930s modernism. Featuring soft drapery, rhythmic columns and a hospitality-focused Grand Café, the installation aimed to provide visitors with a calm retreat from the busy fair environment.

One of the halls at SaloneSatellite brought together designers from around the world, each presenting their latest creations.

Meanwhile, QuadroDesign presented a modular booth by designer Giacomo Moor built from lightweight timber and aluminium joints. Following the fair, the structure will be transported to Masala, Zambia, where it will be repurposed into the town's first public bathroom facility serving women and children.

Returning to the fair after a 25-year absence, B&B Italia unveiled a minimalist booth by Formafantasma. The architectural stand combined marble partitions, wood finishes and coffered ceilings to create a restrained domestic atmosphere that placed emphasis firmly on the products on display.
