Working alongside Knight Frank and contractor Vincent White, the design atelier reimagined levels one and two of the building to appeal to long-term tenants seeking premium workspace in one of London's most established commercial districts.

Located close to St James's Park, Green Park and Hyde Park, 45 Pall Mall offers businesses access to a central address with strong work-life balance credentials.

Spanning two floors, the scheme provides flexible office accommodation within a modernised building envelope. Although the structure was already efficient and contemporary, Shepherd& approached the commission as a strategic repositioning exercise, refreshing the building's identity while enhancing its commercial potential.

The studio delivered a high-specification Cat A fit-out featuring bespoke lighting, while also helping shape the wider marketing narrative for the property. This included redefining how the two floors would be presented to prospective occupiers and building on the architectural legacy of the building, previously designed by Morey Smith.

According to the studio, the aim was to create a contemporary workplace aligned with the expectations of modern office users. The result is a workplace concept that blends design quality with functionality while supporting long-term leasing performance.

Shepherd& said the project demonstrates how Cat A office environments can move beyond conventional specification-led upgrades. By combining design strategy with commercial insight, the completed scheme is intended to serve both occupiers and ownership stakeholders in a competitive leasing market.

The company added that close collaboration with the developer and contractor enabled the creation of a more compelling workplace product that responds to occupier needs as well as the surrounding geographic context.

Founded by four creatives, Shepherd& works across residential, commercial, hospitality, workplace and retail sectors. With studios in London and Paris, the practice focuses on integrating architecture, interiors and narrative-led design into tailored spatial experiences.

The Pall Mall project marks another example of premium London office space being repositioned through hospitality-inspired design and tenant-focused flexibility.
