Blå Station explores modular expression and material clarity at Salone del Mobile 2026

At Salone del Mobile 2026, Swedish design brand Blå Station presented a new exhibition concept defined by a deliberate use of colour, materiality and spatial composition. The installation placed furniture pieces at the centre of the narrative, combining established designs with new introductions in an open and coherent environment.

Across the presentation, tactile surfaces and a restrained colour palette reinforced the identity of each product while maintaining dialogue within the wider collection. The brand continues to focus on furniture that balances function, durability and expressive character.

Among the highlights was SOMA, a modular seating system designed by Geckeler Michels. Built on a simple combinatorial logic, it allows for extensive configuration options using a limited set of components. "2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = ∞" defines the concept, reflecting its adaptable structure and integrated removable covers.

The Frankfurter series by Johan Ansander expanded with new variations, including an upholstered leather version and a complementary table. The design remains centred on body proportions and material durability using moulded Swedish beech.

The BOB Café system, designed by Bernstrand & Borselius, introduced additional elements such as a café table and hanger, extending its use in hospitality environments while maintaining its modular assembly logic.

Villhem, developed between 2025 and 2026, broadened its scope with new seating and table components. The system combines curved plywood and a Supersoft version with steel structure and zinc joints, aiming to optimise production, repairability and adaptability across settings.

The ABLE Table, by Lindau, Bernstrand & Borselius, extends the ABLE family with a design defined by tubular steel and die-cast zinc joints, balancing visual lightness with structural clarity.

RUTAN, also by Bernstrand & Borselius, introduces a flexible modular seating system where units can be connected through magnets or permanent assembly, offering independent elements with optional mobility.

Together, the collection reflects Blå Station's ongoing exploration of modular systems, material efficiency and adaptable design language within contemporary furniture production.
