Vispring and Tom Dixon debuted luxury bed collaboration in Milan

Vispring unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Tom Dixon during Milan Design Week 2026, presenting a new collection of beds and headboards at the newly launched Mua Mua Hotel on the historic Mulino Estate.

The partnership brought together two established British design names, combining Vispring's heritage in handcrafted sleep products with Tom Dixon's contemporary approach to materiality and form. The result was a collection of four headboards, one full bed design and three bespoke concept pieces created exclusively for Milan.

Tom Dixon said, "The bed is the piece of furniture we spend the most time in contact with throughout our lives. It is a primary refuge that deserves more celebration."

Displayed as part of a wider takeover of the Mulino Estate by Dixon and his interior design agency Design Research Studio, the collaboration formed part of the launch of the Mua Mua Hotel. The venue, originally designed in 1929 by architects Chiodi and Gio Ponti, is set to open as a fully operational hotel following Design Week.

At the hotel, Vispring transformed guestrooms into immersive interiors defined by colour, texture and materiality, with designs drawing inspiration from established Tom Dixon collections including FAT, GROOVE and WINGBACK.

The permanent Vispring range will now include the Groove Headboard, Heart Headboard, Rainbow Headboard, Wingback Headboard and the Fat Bed. Exclusive Milan concept pieces included Flare, Arch and Bunny.

All pieces were crafted at Vispring's Plymouth workshop, where the company continues to produce beds using traditional hand-made methods first established when it introduced the pocket sprung mattress in 1901.

Clare Schifano, Global Marketing Director at Vispring, said the collaboration was an opportunity "to explore new directions in our craft, applying 125 years of handmade expertise to a creative brief that challenges convention."

The launch also positioned British design prominently on the international stage, with both companies highlighting the combination of heritage craftsmanship and forward-looking creativity. Vispring said the project set "a new benchmark for luxury British design."
