At Milan Design Week 2025, Abimis presented its first-ever collaboration with Tuscan knife-makers Coltellerie Berti, bringing together two Italian excellences in stainless steel craftsmanship to unveil a bespoke collection of culinary accessories. The partnership fused tradition, precision, and aesthetics to reflect a shared vision of elevating the tools of haute cuisine.
'Stainless steel, shaped by skilled hands into exquisite creations. It's this material, but also the approach to transforming it and the idea of crafting tools to enhance the value of haute cuisine, that draw the parallels between Abimis and Coltellerie Berti, suggesting their natural partnership,' the companies stated.
The debut collection featured two meticulously designed sets. The first, a cutting set, included five knives tailored for bread, meat, fish, vegetables, and cheeses. The second set presented six steak knives from Berti's renowned Convivio Nuovo line, crafted to complement refined table settings.
Each blade was engraved with the logos of both brands, highlighting the collaboration's significance. The satin-finished stainless steel blades echoed the traditional, hand-polished orbital finish of Abimis's signature kitchens, known for their matt, enveloping appearance. The handles—crafted in red methacrylate and secured with brass rivets—mirrored the iconic styling of the Abimis Ego collection, where soft, ring-like shapes and bold colour define the design language.
'Just as Abimis's all-stainless steel kitchens are designed to bring professional kitchen equipment into the domestic sphere, Berti's signature knives allow users to work with high-performance tools identical to those used in the professional catering world,' explained Anna Ongaro, who leads Abimis.
The collaboration was built around a shared philosophy: integrating performance and elegance with exceptional artisanal quality. At its heart was a commitment to customisation—a key theme in both brands' production ethos. The refined finishes and enduring craftsmanship of the knives enriched the Abimis kitchen environment, transforming culinary accessories into design statements.
Tradition and craftsmanship, performance and customisation, finishes and details became "seamless correspondences thanks to the new partnership: tangible values in the accessory line, enriching the Abimis line-up."
Through this joint presentation, Abimis and Coltellerie Berti demonstrated how two heritage brands could come together to redefine culinary tools as not only functional instruments but also aesthetic and cultural artefacts.
