In Tokyo's bustling Toranomon Hills Tower, the renowned Danish design studio Space Copenhagen has brought to life Apothéose, a new 40-seat restaurant and bar. This venture, led by Michelin Chef Keita Kitamura, marries Japanese culinary traditions with French sophistication. The interior design by Space Copenhagen creates an inviting atmosphere, reflecting both elegance and sustainability.

Upon entering Apothéose, guests encounter a bespoke sculptural host station in a spacious hallway that extends into a cosy drinks lounge. The lounge features oak tables and moss green Loafer Chairs from &Tradition, set against earthy terracotta tiles and semi-transparent natural-toned textiles. The restaurant's connection to the outdoor terrace enhances its organic ambiance.
The passageway leading to the restaurant is lined with darkened brass panels and showcases a striking double door with a scalloped motif. Inside, a vibrant open kitchen offers stunning Tokyo skyline views, contrasting with the tranquil, meditative ambiance of the restaurant. The design incorporates light wood, chalky plaster walls, and elegant materials like grey Nuance leather and fabrics from Dedar.
Lighting plays a key role, with portable Como Lamps by &Tradition and playful fixtures by Michael Anastassiades creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. Peter Bundgaard Rützou and Signe Bindslev Henriksen of Space Copenhagen describe Apothéose as a refined space of crafted elegance, aiming to offer a unique and intimate dining experience.
Toranomon Hills is transforming from a business district into a vibrant mixed-use area. Space Copenhagen also designed Hotel Toranomon Hills, featuring the Le Pristine Tokyo restaurant.
