An interview with Géraldine Delettre, founder of Reminiscence Home:

'My view on an art of living is that it's meant to be shared, whether for a hotel or for your own home'

Nestled within the heart of Paris, along the illustrious Champs-Élysées, lies the headquarters of Reminiscence Home. Founded by Géraldine Delettre in 2022, the brand creates lighting, tableware and decorations in Limoges porcelain, made with meticulous craftsmanship in France. We talk to Géraldine and delve into the origins of the brand, the creative process, and aspirations for the future.

Inspiration and heritage
The start of Reminiscence Home originated in a profound appreciation for craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from diverse trades and cultural experiences. Géraldine grew up in a family that worked in hospitality and later went on to work as a project manager in construction. 'I come from diverse backgrounds, hotel and restaurant on one side, building engineering on the other, the search for excellence as a link. My creations reflect my view on an art of living that is meant to be shared, whether for a hotel or for your own home,' she says.

Five years ago, Géraldine worked on a project that led to the start of Reminiscence Home: 'I needed lighting for a project, but I couldn't find the pieces I wanted. I always liked art and sculptures, so I decided to make them myself. I wanted a new challenge after working in construction for so long.' So in 2022 the company was created with its headquarters along the Champs-Élysées in Paris, offering lighting, tableware and decorations designed by Géraldine. 'Creating Reminiscence Home was obvious, a new expression of my work, my research and my admiration for the most beautiful things. Working with porcelain, my white gold, is an art of fire that brings together many different skills (carpenter, chemist, designer, sculptor, engineer, potter, etc.) I knew that I could fully express everything that art and living the French way means to me.'

The creative process at Reminiscence Home is an intimate journey guided by personal anecdotes, childhood memories, and global explorations. 'It's no coincidence that I named my house Reminiscence Home. All my collections come from my feelings, from my childhood, from my travels. I model them, simplify them in my head and, through hard work, they become a reality to share. They have to be both functional and beautiful. It often takes several months to develop a single model, and no less than 2 to 3 firings at very high temperatures to obtain the qualities of translucency and resistance of porcelain,' Géraldine explains.

New collections
The personal sentiments reflected in Géraldine's work are seen in the names of her pieces, often based on the people in her life or her experiences. With exciting new trade shows in mind Géraldine shares her most recent collections: 'The Heritage range, featuring exquisite tableware such as the Gaïa and Present Bleu collections. There is the Gaïa collection, one of my latest hand-carved collections which will soon be completed with plates and other tableware accessories. The Present Bleu collection is a highly anticipated complete collection which will be unveiled exclusively in New York and then at the Elysees Pavilion in France. I also released a new Signature range, for professionals, with exceptional lighting fixtures of excellent French craftsmanship. It also offers edition services for high-end projects.' In the future Géraldine hopes to expand more, and she has the ambition to collaborate on hotel projects.

Global presence and exhibitions
Reminiscence Home is participating in "Art De Vivre A La Française": a 2-day exhibition for up-and coming luxury & high-end home décor brands in New York from May 2-3. 'After several successful editions in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin and Abu Dhabi, Business France is bringing its Art de Vivre à la Française exhibition to New York for the first time in 15 years. I am very proud to have been selected among many brands. This is a fantastic opportunity to present my creations alongside other fabulous, high quality French brands,' Géraldine says.

The brand will also be at the next exhibition of Maison&Object in Paris in September. 'We will be in the Signature hall for exclusive visitors. It's a great privilege to be there!'
