Stockholm Furniture Fair 2024

Stockholm Furniture Fair was held on February 6-10, 2024 at Stockholmsmässan, in parallel with Stockholm Design Week (February 5-11). The 2024 edition of the fair celebrated community spirit, and – although more focused in scale – came with a remarkable line-up of exhibitors and installations.

The Reading Room was created by Formafantasma, Guest of Honour 2024 at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.

The Reading Room invited visitors to a calm space where they could sit and read, reflect and immerse themselves in the ideas that have shaped Formafantasma's work.

Lighting company Zero is known for decorative projects in public interiors. They love to experiment with colour and add "private approach" to the public sector. The Zero team: Pontus Gill, Tobias Gill, Adam Palm, Victoria Sigurd and Per Gill.

Hakon Vad is the 5th generation in the Norwegian company VAD that manufactures sofa systems. He is standing next to the Darwin collection.

Magnus Heijel from Mavis. The company's motto is "made in our world". All furniture is designed in Sweden and produced in factories in Europe that share their view on how furniture should be manufactured. Their goal is to make furniture that's really good but, at the same time, isn't too costly.

Farming Architects by Jordens showcased a testbed of diverse building materials and integrated projects which incorporate farming.

Initially active in the playground market in 1980, Nola's focus now is on outdoor furniture for public spaces. Founder Agneta Stake is sitting on a swing from the Korg Collection.

Joacim Dubbelman and owner Magnus Engström from Envivo. 'We try to change the way we handel furniture and to help people use vintage pieces in an easy way.'

Jonas Wetterlöf, CEO of Grythyttan Stalmöbler, showcased the iconic classic series garden furniture.

Lars Hofjö from the Lumberyard Project. He started the project during Covid in the workshop at his summerhouse. Everything is made by hand and materials are sourced locally. The wood even comes from his neighbour's sawmill!

Robert Bladh, CEO of Essem Design, and his colleague. The company is specialised in Hall furniture & Hall interiors.

Tommy Hammarberg and August Sidusgard from the brand Beyond Interior Finland. This was their first showcase in Sweden and they presented tailor made furniture, mainly closets, with high quality details.

The Zinc Chair, designed by Mathieu Gustafsson (left). Standing next to him is his colleague Anton Mannervik from Gemla. The company is specialised in steam bent wood furniture. All pieces are made by hand.

Älvsjö Gård is a collectable design platform at Stockholm Furniture fair. It showcased experimental and limited edition pieces by designers.

String Furniture celebrated 75 years. The Swedish design company produces a number of modern classics and furniture brands. More than 95 percent of our furniture is made in Sweden, using renewable, recyclable or recycled materials.

Designer for Ingridsdotter Jonas Bohlin rowed from Stockholm to Paris once! Inspired by this trip he created lots of furniture pieces. Among which these chairs, inspired by the bends in the rivers.

Sanna Fehrman from Massproductions, sitting on the Patch Sofa, made with pocket springs. The sofa is produced with as much air, to limit the amount of foam.

'Imaginative designs and obsessive quality', that is the motto of Hem. Collaborating with different designers the brand creates unique pieces for the private and public sector.

The T Shelf for Hem is designed by Formafantasma, Guest of Honour 2024 at Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Karl Wulf Karlsson and Henrik Karlsson are the 2nd and 3rd generation of Hans K. The family business focuses on wooden furniture. They are standing next to the new K5 Chair.

Saara Argillander sitting on the heat-treated pine wood outdoor chair by Vaarnii. The company is specialised in locally made pine wood furniture.

Vaarnii also showcased pine veneer lighting.

Matt Jowit from Humanscale. The American company specialises in ergonomic products. 'We create products that fulfil a solution to an ergonomic problem. Our products are also easy to use.'

Sabina Jismark from the Sono Group is showing the new Forest series for children and grown-ups.

The Yellow Thread installation by Färg & Blanche was first created for the 2023 Swedish Presidency of the European Union at the European Council in Brussels. It now encompassed a bar and seating area, and a spacious stage area housing the fair’s talks program, framed by striking yellow arches that define the space.

Edsbyn CEO Cecilia Sebesta (right) and colleague Jenny Hallberg. The company is celebrating 125 years this year! Initially starting as a manufacturer for ski's the company now specialises in soft seating. But the Eski Chairs are a fun nod to the company's past.

Marqus Hansson from Interior Collection, a Swedish distributor for different brands. 'Our focus consists of the best possible service with personal advice, safe deliveries and a large range of quality design furniture.'

An overview of Hall A. The fair was smaller than usual this year, but there were many visitors.

Roger Olsson from Balzar Beskow. Since 1957 the company manufactures Swedish furniture, of which 95% is locally produced.

Jonathan Georgy from Form2 is sitting on one of the unique pieces from the Globe Collection.

Simonas Savickas from Narbutas. The company based in Lithuania manufactures office furniture. The focus of this year was sustainability.

One of the talks hosted at the fair was by architect and industrial designer Patricia Urquiola. It featured Urquiola's visionary approach to design.

David Sjöberg is designer and owner of Davsjo. The brand new company celebrated its 3 month anniversary. He showed a collection of foldable and non-foldable dining chairs.
