Based in Trowbridge, Airsprung manufactures mattresses and beds sold directly through its retail operations, online, and via third-party retailers. The company operates two manufacturing facilities in the town.
According to the administrators, the business explored investment opportunities and potential offers but ultimately entered administration due to its financial position. Following the appointment, 71 of the company's 202 employees were made redundant, while remaining staff have been retained to support ongoing trading and fulfil outstanding orders.
Edward Williams said the administration marked a sad moment for a business with 150 years of history within the mattress and bed industry. The administrators are continuing to trade the company while exploring interest in the business and its assets.
Tean Dallaway thanked employees, suppliers, and customers for their support and dedication, describing the outcome as "very sad and disappointing".
