RW Collective shifts production to US with Mississippi expansion

RW Collective has relocated approximately 45% of its upholstered furniture production from China to the United States, following the acquisition of a manufacturing facility in Saltillo, Mississippi.

The move forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen domestic production capacity and improve supply chain resilience. The company acquired the former Bauhaus factory in 2025, retaining its workforce and investing in operational upgrades. A newly installed cutting machine has already increased efficiency in the department by 28%.

According to Rebekah Osborn, maintaining product quality while achieving competitive pricing has been a key priority. The company has focused on gradual product integration, adding designs incrementally to ensure consistency in both construction and cost.

Alongside manufacturing changes, RW Collective is expanding its presence at the High Point Market, increasing its showroom footprint from 2,500 to 8,000 square feet. The brand plans to present new collections while responding to growing demand for readily available inventory, with current lead times averaging three weeks from the Mississippi facility.

The company has also increased stock levels and pre-purchased materials to mitigate the impact of tariffs and geopolitical uncertainty, while avoiding the introduction of surcharges.

The shift reflects a wider trend across the furniture industry, as manufacturers reassess global sourcing strategies in favour of greater domestic control, faster delivery times and improved operational stability.
