IKEA has announced the appointment of David McCabe as its new Country Retail Manager and Chief Sustainability Officer for the UK and Ireland, with his tenure set to begin on 1 July 2026.

McCabe returns to the retailer after a 30-year career with the company, which began at its Lakeside store in the UK. Over the course of his career, he has held multiple leadership roles across international markets, bringing extensive retail and operational experience to the position.
In his new role, McCabe will oversee IKEA's retail operations across the UK and Ireland as the company continues to evolve its customer offer and strengthen its market position. His appointment forms part of the brand's broader strategy to shape the future of retail while reinforcing its long-standing sustainability commitments.
