Spain's home furniture industry recorded steady growth in 2025, with production value reaching approximately €1.6 billion, up 3.6% year-on-year, according to data from Informa DBK Sectoral Observatory. The increase was supported by rising exports and improved domestic demand, underpinned by a recovering real estate market and better financing conditions.

Exports rose by 5.8% to €852 million, with key destinations including France, Portugal, the United States, Germany and Italy, which together accounted for around 60% of total export value. However, imports grew at a faster pace, increasing by 9.1% to €1.176 billion, widening the trade deficit to €324 million. China remained the dominant supplier, representing roughly half of all imports, followed by Italy, Poland and Vietnam.
Despite the growth in output and trade, profitability remains under pressure. The report highlights increasing price sensitivity among consumers, rising production costs and stronger negotiating power from retailers as key constraints. Competition from imported products is also weighing on margins.
Structurally, the sector continues to be dominated by small businesses. As of January 2025, Spain had 9,373 furniture manufacturers, a decline of 3.9% compared to the previous year. Around 90% of companies employ fewer than ten people, while only 1.7% have more than 50 employees.
While the outlook remains positive in terms of demand, ongoing cost pressures and competitive dynamics are expected to limit short-term profitability gains across the industry.
