Domkapa showcases modular and material developments at Salone del Mobile

'Many of the pieces from our stand were sold during the fair'

At Salone del Mobile 2025, Portuguese manufacturer Domkapa introduced new directions in modular seating, upholstered beds, and outdoor furnishings under the umbrella of its Heritage Collection. Presented as part of the brand's annual showcase in Milan, the offering aimed to consolidate Domkapa's position in the European B2B interior design market while reflecting current shifts in user demand and material specification.

'Our experience at Salone del Mobile this year was incredibly rewarding,' said Diogo Mendes, Domkapa's Marketing Coordinator. 'The fair continues to be a key moment in the design calendar, and this year's edition felt particularly vibrant and full of energy.'

Among the highlights was the Laurent sofa, a modular system featuring an internal mechanism that enables foldable pillows, combining structured upholstery with adjustable ergonomics. The product sits within a broader trend observed across the fair, where volumetric forms, integrated functionality, and tactile surfaces remain prominent.

'We also introduced a new modular bed and a complete outdoor collection, both of which garnered strong interest,' said Mendes. 'Many of the pieces from our stand were sold during the fair.'

Visitors responded to the stand with sustained engagement, according to the brand, with a mix of existing and prospective clients from international markets. Mendes observed several common design threads across Salone, notably the persistence of earthy, neutral palettes and a renewed use of traditional materials and techniques.

'Earthy, neutral palettes were prominent, with warm tones like Mocha Mousse paired with tactile fabrics like bouclé,' he said. 'Fluted designs, with their elegant, ridged details, added sophistication across various furniture pieces.'

The inclusion of biophilic references, natural textures and material expressions integrated into indoor furniture, was another recurring theme, alongside a noted presence of classic textiles such as brocade in select brand showcases.

While Domkapa has an established presence across European markets, Mendes noted that Salone remains a key activation for the brand's business-to-business strategy. 'It's a platform where we can engage with a global audience, from architects and designers to retailers and suppliers,' he said. 'It's a great way to establish relationships with key industry players and keep our brand at the forefront of design trends.'

Looking ahead, Domkapa plans to expand into North American and Middle Eastern markets and broaden its portfolio with new launches scheduled for 2025. Mendes confirmed that upcoming collections will maintain a focus on "cutting-edge design and extreme comfort," reinforcing the company's commitment to product evolution through in-house development.

Domkapa continues to position its manufacturing and design capabilities as responsive to changing spatial needs, particularly within contract and hospitality environments where modularity, material choice, and flexibility remain core concerns.
