House Nordic, a fast-growing Danish interior design company, has made a notable impact at this year's Maison&Objet fair in Paris. Founded just eight years ago, the company now employs 100 people and sells to 45 countries worldwide, offering Scandinavian-inspired designs that combine high quality with competitive pricing.
Successful show at Maison&Objet
At Maison&Objet Paris, House Nordic presented over 100 new items, from sofas to outdoor furniture. CEO Henrik Jørgensen highlighted the success of their booth: 'The fair was really good for us. We had a very nice booth, around 110 square metres, where we showed a lot of new items,' he said. 'It's always interesting to meet a lot of existing customers, and we still get a lot of new customers when we join the fair.' He added, 'This was our fourth time in Paris, and we believe it is one of the best fairs in Europe.'
House Nordic didn't exhibit in Milan but plans to visit next time, with a focus on expanding in Europe. The fair also saw a record number of new orders. 'We got a lot of new customers placing orders at the fair. It was a new record for us to have this many new clients,' Henrik noted.
Challenges in the current market
Like many companies, House Nordic faces challenges, especially around logistics. 'It takes a lot of time for the container to arrive because they have to go around Africa due to closing of the Suez,' Henrik explained. Despite these issues, the company has not felt inflation's impact as much as others. 'People still have the money to spend, but they want value for their purchases,' he said.
Future ambitions
House Nordic is focused on further European expansion. 'We see Europe as our home market, and there are still many countries where we have only a few customers. There is a big potential for growth,' Henrik remarked. The company's product range, now at 1,100 items, is expected to grow. 'We can increase our assortment much more, so both by gaining more customers and expanding our range, we have a big opportunity to increase our sales.'
Looking ahead, House Nordic is on track for continued growth in 2025 and beyond. With its focus on innovation and value, the company is poised to strengthen its European market presence. Henrik concluded, 'We have just started, and we believe there is a big opportunity ahead of us. We can get many times bigger looking a few years ahead.'
