On January 17, 2025, Formex will take a significant step by inviting the public to a unique trend evening for the first time in its history. Following the closure of the regular exhibition halls, the entrance square at Stockholmsmässan will open its doors to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest trends, gain inspiration, attend thought-provoking talks, and enjoy an exclusive viewing of Kristin "Krickelin" Lagerqvist's exhibition. This initiative aims to foster greater inclusivity by sharing Formex's unique aspects with the general public.
Over the years, Formex has received numerous requests from individuals eager to attend the fair, which is traditionally reserved for industry professionals. Now, for the first time, the public is invited to experience the major trends anticipated for the upcoming spring and summer. By welcoming the public, Formex seeks to reflect the current interior design trend of openness and sharing, offering a new dimension of community and accessibility.
'For us, it's important to create a platform that inspires and engages,' says Sonja Björk Ebert, Project Manager at Formex. 'Formex is a business-to-business fair and an incredibly important marketplace for the interior design industry. Opening a part of the fair to the public for the first time is a natural step in being generous and sharing the magic of Formex with more people – we're creating a Happy Place for everyone.'
During the evening, visitors will be treated to a guided tour of the exhibition curated by Kristin "Krickelin" Lagerqvist, giving them exclusive insight into her work. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet prominent artisans and creatives, as well as participate in inspiring talks featuring notable figures such as Jan Rundgren, Karl Fredrik Gustafsson, Lisa Bengtsson, Lena Nyholm, and Cissi Åhlén from Mylifeinmulticolor. Additionally, visitors can browse and shop at the Formex Shop, offering a curated selection of new products from exhibitors.
The event will take place on Friday, January 17, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the entrance square of Stockholmsmässan. Only the entrance square will be accessible during this time, as the exhibition halls will remain closed.
