Tempur Sealy plans sale of 200 Stores for $4B Mattress Firm deal

Tempur Sealy is gearing up for its $4 billion Mattress Firm acquisition, planning to divest around 200 retail stores that include both Sleep Outfitters and certain Mattress Firm stores. Details about the specific locations of the divested stores are yet to be revealed.

They've shared this information with Furniture Today, mentioning that the sell-off involves not just storefronts but also seven warehouse and distribution centres, projecting a collective 2023 sales figure of roughly $200 million from these outlets.

The acquisition of Mattress Firm, encompassing over 2,300 retail stores, presently under FTC review, is expected to conclude in the latter half of next year. The divestment of nearly 200 stores could potentially address any antitrust concerns raised by the FTC during this examination.
