Antwerp Design Week opens to consumers with record edition and new design walks

Antwerp is gearing up for another edition of Antwerp Design Week, taking place from 30 May to 3 June 2026. The city is once again positioning itself as a design destination, with a record number of more than 100 participating brands spread across an urban network of showrooms, flagship stores and temporary installations. This year's event operates under the motto: "Your design surprise in pocket size."

The 2026 edition brings together both established names such as Ethnicraft, Serax and HAY, alongside emerging designers and high-end galleries such as Cour Space. Visitors can discover new collections, collaborations and reinterpretations throughout the city, including projects by Belgian designers and artists. For instance, Pomax will present a reinterpretation of work by Léon Stynen, while XLBoom will reintroduce a modern glass design by Zéphir Busine.

The programme is built around two tracks: one aimed at professionals and the other at design enthusiasts. For professionals, the programme spans five districts across the city, where interior designers, retailers and property developers can visit showrooms, headquarters and exhibitions. Beyond inspiration, the focus is on networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration within the design sector.

New in this edition is the strong expansion towards consumers. They will have access to a tailor-made programme via three Design Lover Walks in the city centre. These routes lead past important design locations, where visitors can meet Belgian designers, discover collections and participate in talks, workshops and installations.

Young design is also given a clearer stage. Through Flanders District of Creativity, a selection of young designers will be presented with new concepts and experiments. In addition, design schools such as La Cambre collaborate with the event to make emerging talent visible. Moreover, Thomas More and alumni show a critical exhibition on the role of design in a context of mass production.

Antwerp Design Week remains strongly embedded in the Belgian design sector. The event offers national brands a platform to showcase their craftsmanship, creativity and identity to an international audience. At the same time, international participation is growing, presenting a broad mix of Belgian and foreign designers across the city.

The event will take place from 30 May to 3 June 2026, daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Guided press tours will be organised for journalists, giving them access to brands and underlying stories within the programme.
