IKEA has had to say goodbye to its dear and beloved colleague Alessandra Zini (55) "with great sadness" after a period of illness. She has been the top boss of IKEA Netherlands since September 2023.
Alessandra Zini.
Under her leadership, IKEA Netherlands focused on sustainable growth and lowering prices to become more accessible to a wider audience. As CEO, she stated that the company had been going through difficult years, but she was determined to better serve customers through price reductions and improved service.
'Alex – as she was called within our blue and yellow walls – had been a familiar face at IKEA for 24 years,' the management said. Due to her passion, knowledge of people and ability to truly connect, she held management positions in Italy, the United States, France and Sweden throughout her career. In September 2023, she took over as CEO of IKEA Netherlands, a role in which her warmth and inspiring leadership were immediately noticeable. Her way of connecting and her sincere attention to people made her not only an inspiring leader, but above all a beloved person.
Alex, you will be missed terribly. You made a deep impression, and we will remember you for who you were – your warmth, your wisdom, your boundless energy and your big heart for people and for IKEA. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues." This was announced by IKEA Netherlands. The cause of her death has not been announced.
The editors of InteriorDaily wish her relatives and IKEA colleagues much strength with this loss.
