For the first time ever, Prince fans will have the unique opportunity to experience the world of the popular song Purple Rain like never before. A newly curated experience from Airbnb now offers unprecedented access to the art, music, and personal items that defined the iconic film and the life of Prince.
The Purple Rain house, located in Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, has been transformed into a living tribute to both the film and Prince himself. It incorporates authentic elements from his personal collection, unreleased tracks, and memories from his life, creating an immersive homage to the beloved character, The Kid.
In collaboration with Paisley Park Enterprises and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, this special experience is available for 25 one-night stays through Airbnb. Each stay is priced at $7 per person—an homage to Prince's favourite number—and will take place between October 26 and December 14, 2024, accommodating up to four guests per night.
Guests will step into The Kid's world, starting with the living room, adorned in purple velvet wallpaper and a vintage '80s stereo preloaded with tracks that inspired the character.
Visitors can relax in a When Doves Cry–themed spa, complete with a claw foot tub, stained-glass windows, and plush purple robes. The bathroom also includes luxurious touches like a soothing face mask and lavender bath bombs to enhance the experience.
Prince's legendary wardrobe is displayed in a special closet, showcasing some of his most famous outfits. While these items are for viewing only, guests are invited to try on '80s-inspired outfits curated to unleash their inner rockstar, complete with accessories and makeup.
Music enthusiasts can head to the Muse Lounge, where they'll find instruments and instructions to play along with Purple Rain. The house also features a secret room that holds treasures for those who can uncover it. Inside, fans will find a faux vinyl album that contains seven clues leading to surprises. Guests will end their night in The Kid's bedroom, designed to mirror the look from the movie.
