Kim Kardashian is pushing back against allegations of knock off Donald Judd furniture

A social media post showing Kim Kardashian's company offices and furniture has been referenced in an ongoing legal dispute between Clements Design and the Judd Foundation. The Judd Foundation filed a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian in California federal court, alleging that she showcased counterfeit versions of artist Donald Judd's furniture in a YouTube video.

In the most recent development, Clements Design is pushing back against allegations of producing knock off Donald Judd furniture in response to a lawsuit from the Judd Foundation. The design firm, run by Kathleen and Tommy Clements, has filed a motion requesting the case's dismissal before trial. In their 28-page document, they accuse the Judd Foundation of using the lawsuit for publicity and trying to monopolize the market and minimalist style.

The dispute began when the Judd Foundation sued Kim Kardashian and Clements Design, claiming unauthorized copies of Judd's La Mansana table and Chair 84 were used in Kardashian's company offices. The lawsuit referenced a video where Kardashian allegedly portrayed the pieces as genuine. The motion from Clements Design acknowledges creating the furniture but denies passing them off as authentic Judd pieces. They argue that the furniture was described as being 'in the style of Donald Judd', indicating it wasn't claimed to be genuine.

Clements Design counters the Judd Foundation's legal claims, particularly regarding trademark and trade dress infringement, false advertising, and unfair competition.
