Lower increase in Swedish inflation than expected

Swedish inflation increased in April, but not as much as anticipated. According to the CPIF, which is adjusted for mortgage rate effects, inflation stood at 2.3 percent during the fourth month of the year, compared to 2.2 percent in March. However, the expectation was 2.4 percent.

But, looking at the CPI measure, inflation actually fell from 4.1 to 3.9 percent.

Experts say that what most affected inflation during April was the higher prices for recreation and culture. Among other things, book prices increased again. At the same time, the increase was dampened by lower electricity prices and lower fruit prices.
