For Milano Design Week 2024, Gupica presented three new projects designed for Nilufar, Fiam and Wall&decò.
Floralia - Nilufar
Floralia is a light design project by Gupica for Nilufar, presented at Fuorisalone 2024. This is an ode to nature, spring and rebirth. The project suggests a climbing plant, with lampshades in the form of stylized flowers anchored to composable modular structures. They simulate trellises and supports for growing plants, and allow the lamps to be arranged in various configurations, creating striking lighting installations. Light bounces among the metal flower petals, creating evocative reflections that play off one another in the structural geometry of the design.
Sipario - Fiam
Sipario is the new light design project by Gupica for Fiam, a leader in the glass furniture sector. The curtain symbolically separates the real world from the world of imagination and creativity: when it opens, the wait is over, and the audience is enveloped in light and wonder. Inspired by the theatrical world, the Sipario lamp designed by Gupica draws elements and emotions from the stage and transforms them into a functional object.
A suspended transparent curtain becomes a lamp that emanates diffused light, creating an evocative theatrical effect. The curved glass recalls the rippling sway of fabric, thanks to the fine workmanship that has been a characteristic of Fiam's three-dimensional glass manufacturing for decades.
Mediterraneo - Wall&decò
Mediterraneo is a wallpaper that captures a moment in time and space: a climbing green plant spreading across the wall, covering and transforming it. The design, inspired by the designer's observation of leaves fluttering in the wind, generates a visual experience, a sensory journey through the colours of the Mediterranean. The wallpaper is available in two version, with an azure or pink ground.
