Tarkett has released its quarterly figures for the first quarter of 2024, revealing a global net sales decrease of 4.3 percent from the same period last year, to €668.1 million. The decline is primarily attributed to reduced demand for flooring in Europe and North America, as previously predicted by the company.
A positive note is the nearly 8 percent increase in revenue from the sports flooring division. Despite stable project markets in North America and Asia, South America also shows little demand for new flooring, impacting Tarkett's revenue there. Europe saw a decline of nearly 4 percent compared to last year, mainly due to inflation, interest rate hikes, and price competition with Asian products.
