The historic Palazzo Melzi di Cusano is transformed by Monitillo1980 for Milano Design Week

Monitillo1980, an Italian enterprise specialised in the processing of marble, granite and natural stone, participates in the 2024 Milano Design Week from April 16-21, staging their collections in Palazzo Melzi di Cusano, Casa Conte's new seat in the Quadrilatero della Moda district.

The courtyard of the palazzo is transformed into an urban oasis of design – the round table and sculptures of the City collection designed by Studiopepe, together with the dining and coffee tables and the totemic items of the Ville collection by Atelier Daaa harmonise with the new sofas of the Conte outdoor collection, creating a place where people can get together and relax.

The setup is completed by a selection of display panels from the Walls&Floors line, designed by internationally renowned architects under the creative direction of Efrem Bonacina, including Claesson Koivisto Rune, Andrea Maffei, Emmanuel Gallina, Virginia Arlotto, Defne Kos + Marco Susani.

The arcade is turned into a veritable living room where matter communicates with architecture and visitors can stop and spend a quiet moment away from all the chaos of the city.

The exhibition continues on the second floor of the building in the Casa Conte apartment showroom, a place for celebrating creativity and excellence staged so that design, architecture and fashion mingle.

Throughout 2024, Casa Conte will host Atrium, a collection created exclusively by 13.1 Architecture & Décor by Filippo Fiora and Federico Sigali who stage the experience in a private apartment in Milan, reminiscent of the atmosphere of an exclusive club where the fashion crowd meets to unwind or socialise on classy sofas in a contemporary setting.

The apartment is meant to be an eclectic place geared towards custom-made items where the company and brand partners exhibit site-specific limited edition collections. In this interior space, Monitillo 1980 presents a total look for bathrooms, all custom-made with Walls & Floors panellings from the Dedalo line designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune where geometry reflects the linear shapes of nature and arabesque patterns create an immersive setting.
