Bernhardt&Vella continues collaboration with Calligaris, Rugiano and Arflex

'Sobriety and eclecticism find a perfect balance through contrasts in forms, details, and materials'

Bernhardt&Vella unveils two new collections and designs the set-up of two stands at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024, continuing the collaboration with some of the furniture industry's leading players: Arflex, Calligaris, and Rugiano.

The new Ribbon coffee table, designed for Calligaris, emerges from the exploration of fluid forms and materials with distinctive personalities, such as painted metal and ribbed glass. Its base consists of a metal ribbon that bends to create rounded curves, supporting the glass top characterised by an irregular texture reminiscent of rippling water.

The second debut by Bernhardt&Vella includes two projects designed for Rugiano, intended for outdoor use but perfect for a living area as well: the Capri sofa and lounge chair, and the Elba coffee tables. The design of the Capri sofa and lounge chair evokes the aesthetic of the 1970s, featuring a structure composed of painted aluminium tubes that form armrests and backrest seamlessly, adorned with generous cushions. The result is a collection with a decisive, lightweight, and resolute personality. The Elba coffee tables draw inspiration from the soft, rounded shape of water droplets. Available in various sizes and colours, they feature a unique gradient effect, lending the metallic painted aluminium structure a distinctive hue ranging from azure to bronze.

For Rugiano, the designers also oversee the exhibition setup at the fair this year, along with a series of other projects revealed during Salone del Mobile.

The collaboration with Arflex continues, with Bernhardt&Vella once again designing the exhibition space at the fair, characterised by gentle lines and discreet, contemporary elegance that defines the work of the designers.

Thus, the studio's collaboration with the brands continues, showcasing a delicate yet strongly distinctive stylistic signature, where sobriety and eclecticism find a perfect balance through the interplay of contrasts in forms, details, and materials.
