The restructuring is aimed at safeguarding production continuity, maintaining operations at manufacturing sites, and restoring long-term financial stability. The group said business activities in Hungary remain stable, with orders continuing to be accepted and production secured for both current and new contracts.

ADA operates Hungarian facilities in Körmend, Zalaegerszeg and Nova Magyarország, which remain central to the company's regional manufacturing footprint.

Management cited difficult market conditions and ongoing structural changes across the European furniture industry as key reasons behind the insolvency proceedings. Rising cost pressures, softer consumer demand and increased competition have created strain for many mid-sized manufacturers across the continent.

The company noted that several measures had already been introduced over the past three years to improve competitiveness and prepare for future operations. The current process is intended to preserve industrial capacity while allowing an orderly financial restructuring.

ADA said it would continue to communicate transparently with employees and business partners throughout the reorganisation.

Headquartered in eastern Styria, Austria, ADA is one of the country's oldest furniture manufacturing groups, with production operations spanning Austria, Hungary and Romania.
