The inaugural edition of ECHO, a new international design exhibition, took place in Stockholm from 3–6 February 2026, hosted in a historic former cannon workshop on Skeppsholmen. Over four days, established brands and emerging designers showcased their work to nearly one thousand visitors, alongside international and Swedish press.

The exhibition combined professional networking with curated discussions and public engagement. Each morning, press and architect breakfasts set the stage for ECHO Talks, with the first edition themed "On Legacy." Moderated by Hanna Nova Beatrice, Editor-in-Chief of The New Era Magazine, the panel featured Mirkku Kullberg (Paimio Sanatorium), Jonatan Jahn (Museum of Furniture Studies), Max Fraser (Dezeen), and Henrik Ljung (DUX).
ECHO was styled by Lotta Agaton, whose design highlighted the interplay between heritage and contemporary innovation. The exhibition has already attracted widespread coverage in major publications, including The Times, Wallpaper, Dezeen, Hypebeast, and Sweden's leading titles such as Dagens Nyheter, Residence Magazine, ELLE Decoration, Plaza, and Sköna Hem. In total, 55 journalists attended the press breakfast on the opening day.
Industry engagement was equally strong. The exhibition provided a platform for producers, designers, and professionals to connect in a year when the Stockholm Furniture Fair has been postponed until 2027. "We are delighted by the warm reception ECHO has received and would like to thank both exhibitors and visitors for helping us create the commercial meeting place that was missing this year," said Karin Sköldberg, one of the exhibition's organisers.

ECHO was conceived as a complement to the Stockholm Furniture Fair, aiming to reinforce Stockholm's position as a global design destination and promote Sweden as a hub for design excellence. Its debut demonstrates the city's ongoing relevance on the international design stage and its ability to host innovative, market-oriented exhibitions that engage both professionals and the public.
